The “Ochoco Mill Apartments” is North Peak Development’s most recent multifamily development project in Central Oregon. We have partnered with the longtime land owner to develop this high-demand 312 unit housing project. This 11.22-acre multifamily site is part of a greater 76-acre master plan with several single family and commercial developments in the immediate, surrounding area.
The Central Oregon region has experienced an unprecedented increase in population over the past decade. While this expansion is a benefit to the economic prosperity of the region, it has left an unfulfilled housing demand throughout our projects area. With the increased cost of housing in the region and close proximity to Bend and Redmond, Prineville has become a go-to area for more affordable housing options. The Prineville area offers easy access to year-round outdoor recreation, breweries, restaurants, shopping, and employment. Tech Giants such as Apple and Facebook have invested billions of dollars into their Prineville facilities due to generous tax incentives, low-cost utilities and access to high-speed communications. To date, Prineville hosts one of Facebook’s largest data centers with continued expansion already planned for several more years.
The City of Prineville has welcomed this multifamily project due to the extreme demand for housing in the area and more specifically in the town of Prineville. With the current owner previously completing much of the needed infrastructure, our time to begin development will be significantly decreased in order to bring this much needed housing source to market as soon as possible.
